GCSTO Spring Swim Team 2010 - NEW
***********************************************************************************
*** Applying For the Spring ***
Team members with us from the fall/winter of 09/10 do NOT need to fill out a new team application. Your initial payment for fees for the spring will reserve your spot and is all that we need from you to automatically secure your position back onto the team. Those who are new to us for the year (who did not swim with us at any point during the fall and winter) must fill out an application and turn that in right away (marked with "1-Week Trial" across the top) in order to reserve your spot on our list of potential new members for the spring. No money is due until after you've been able to try out the team for a week if this is your first time ever on GCSTO. If you have been on GCSTO before but simply not this fall/winter and are returning for the spring, you'll need to submit your application and payment in order to secure a spot on the team.

Seasonal Practice Schedules & Financial Information
Spring New Swimmer Try-out Weeks
Our spring athlete screening day for athletes interested in our COLUMBUS ACADEMY location is from 5:30-6:45 p.m. on Monday, April 12, 2010 at the Academy for level 3 and under athletes. Our spring athlete screening day for athletes interested in ST. CHARLES is from 5:30-6:45 p.m. on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at St. Charles for level 3 and under athletes. The free try-out week for Novice, Level 1 & Level 2 swimmers is April 19-25 and is with the level in which the new athlete best fits into within our program structure as determined during the screening day. The free try-out week for Level 3 swimmers is April 13-16 as they may start up right away with this level that first week. Athletes in Level 4, 4 Elite, Level 5, SST or our after school High School group need not come to the screening days but may start their tryout week directly with their assigned senior training level starting the week of April 12. If any vacancies still remain on the team, athletes missing the trial period who desire to join the team late will be given their free trial period, which begins once they are able to start practicing with the team.

Supplemental Spring Programming Schedule
Pre-Season Junior Dry Land Training Program - Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Sunday (all at SC) from 6:00-7:15 p.m. from April 5-11, 2010. Cost is $20. This is a great way for any Level 1, 2 or 3 athlete to work on core strength and coordination prior to the start of the spring season.
Open Junior (Level 1, 2 & 3) Technical Development Practices - This is an extra, no charge technical development practice, which will cover starts, turns, stroke drills, stroke development, dry land, etc. for any full-time swimmer in levels 1, 2 or 3 with us this spring who wishes to attend this practice either as an extra practice each week or a replacement practice for one they missed during the week. It will run on Sundays, 4:30-6:00 p.m., at St. Charles from April 25 to June 6 and will be led by our head age group coach coordinator, Brian Tann. Athletes on our multiple daily pass program may add this spring practice option for only $35.
Sibling Practice Options - This free option to team members, only, is available to those with multiple swimmers who are in back to back levels on the team… it allows them to take the “upper” level athlete to the practice of their “lower” level athlete once per week AND allows the reverse to also occur once per week. Please clear such arrangements with the staff before simply coming on in so that we can ensure that there is ample space available for this option in the event that regular athlete attendance in the level your athlete wants to come to doesn’t allow space for additional athletes.
Additional Spring Financial Information
Multiple Swimmer Discounts - For all families with more than 1 (one) swimmer in Levels 1 through 5, only & SST included, GCSTO will provide you with a $30 discount for your second child, a $55 discount for your third child and an $80 discount for your fourth child. For a family with a second swimmer participating in full-time Novice, we will discount that swimmer $10. Multiple daily pass and partial season athletes are not included.
USA, Ohio & Central Ohio Swimming Fees - This once-a-year $35 pro-rated fee is mandatory for each and every swimmer joining the team in the spring who has not already registered with USA Swimming (exclusive of Novice & Summer League Swimmer Open Pool Practice participants) whether they compete in swimming meets or not. This membership fee will be added to your team fees and is payable to GCSTO.
Multiple Daily Pass Program - For swimmers that may be involved in other activities and who may be only able to attend a limited number of practices in the spring, GCSTO has a MDP program available. This program allows athletes to attend up to one half of the practices offered to their practice group for a pro-rated price. This is the second price that you see in the costs listed above. Swimmers wanting this payment option must declare the use of this option, in writing, prior to the start of the spring season. Too, please note that this option is open, only, if the level is not filled with athletes signed up for full-time swimming.
Seasonal Corporation/Re-Association Fees – This once a season fee is for those who only swim with us on a seasonal basis and who have not already paid our Corporation/Re-Association Fee in the fall and winter. This fee is paid only once per season per family and paid for the “highest” level athlete you have in our program.
