Team National Rankings

Club Excellence Program - BronzeThe Club Excellence Program:
This program deals with the performance levels of the older athletes on the team in comparison to the rest of the nation. Of the thousands of clubs in USA Swimming, only 200 clubs were screened for such recognition. GCSTO was first recognized in 2007 as a Bronze Medal Club in USA Swimming and has repeated that effort this year. Click on the icon for more information about this program from USA Swimming.

Club Recognition Program - Level 2USA Swimming’s Club Recognition Program: We have now qualified for level 2 in USA Swimming's Club Recognition Program! Recognition at this level deals with club administration and organization and it is no easy task to achieve. Congrats to all of our swimmers and coaches on this achievement. Virtual Club ChampionshipsToyota Virtual Club Championships: This system of ranking the thousands of clubs in USA Swimming is based on overall team performance in relation to the rest of the nation. Last year GCSTO made the top 100 on this list (as 100th) with 157,104 points. This year, the team is sitting at 87th with 164,514 points.  Click on the icon for more information about this program from USA Swimming.

Meet Results

USA Swimming Sectionals: Last spring GCSTO took but 15-16 athletes to this upper level meet. This year, with 31 qualified, we ended up able to take 29 athletes to the meet and placed 6th at the meet with not many more points but a future that looks incredibly bright as, amazingly, 25 of these athletes are back next year!

Senior State Championships: We had incredible attendance at this meet this year and placed 5th overall as a team and had an excellent performance with most sectional athletes swimming their “off” events!

State Age Group Championships: With state qualifying standards that were to cut this year’s meet by 25% overall in attendance, we actually had more athletes qualified for the meet this year then we did last year. We had around 4 more individually and about 8 more for relays and had some outstanding performances.

Individual Results

World Championship Trials Qualifiers:
While this meet has yet to be held it’s is simply almost as “big” a meet as is Olympic Trials and we have 2 athletes qualified for this meet to date…. Gracie Finnegan & Ashley Specht!

Patrick Kelly Chosen For USA Swimming Select Camp: Based on the IMX scores he received last year for his performance in the IMX series of events, Patrick was chosen to attend this camp in late May by USA Swimming. He was one of the 26 male athletes chosen from across the country for this elite camp.

Announcements

Creekside Blues & Jazz Blast Swim Meet - WHAT A MEET!!!! We want to thank everyone who came to the meet and also send a special thanks to whoever it was that paid off the weather monsters to make it such a beautiful weekend! Too, we would like to thank everyone who helped worked the meet especially those from other teams. Your entry fee refund check for that day is coming home shortly. It was an incredible weekend and everyone really seemed to enjoy themselves. It very, VERY much looks like this meet will close out next year so we are now coming up with a plan to accept entries based on the number of years the teams have been coming to the meet. We'll base it on meet attendance loyalty and not entry dates so be prepared for that next year. Click here to get your meet results or click here for a meet back-up file...
